We like the large mesh roof area for summer stargazing, and the patented foot sleeves to help keep those poles in place.
If you are looking for something that is big, light and airy, this could be the tent for you. The UNP Camping tent 10-person family tent comfortably sleeps a family of 6, making it ideal for larger families, or families with a lot of gear (or a pet or two).
A generous 18 ft x 9 ft, this tent opens out big but packs up small and light, fitting into a carry bag of 25.6” x 10.2” x 10.2” and weighing only 23.1 pounds.
The manufacturer claims it can be set up by two people in just eight minutes, and with just five poles, that is certainly achievable, once you’ve read the instructions and had a couple of goes. A good feature is the patented “foot sleeves” that you slot the poles into preventing slippage on the ground.
Once set up, the inside of this tent is roomy, with a little “shelf” at the top to store some light gear. The roof has a large mesh area for night-time star-gazing and offers great ventilation, or you can add the waterproof awning if it looks like it might rain.
The inside area is one large room, but the UNP Camping 10-Person Family Tent does come with a fabric partition. Add this, and you instantly have a two-room tent!
